“A Dream That has Been Cooking for Years
Our family first arrived in Kjipuktuk, Mi’kma’ki (Halifax, Nova Scotia) in the mid-60s through the late 70s. We were the first Khan family to live in Halifax and the first Muslim family in Spryfield! There was no Halal food or cultural foods that were accessible to us. In our culture, food is a love language. The most special moments in our family have come from the meals we’ve shared together.
